With over a decade of clinical and professional experience, I have built my career in patient-centered care, general and sports osteopathy, manual therapies, and the management of health and therapeutic tourism projects, including collaborations with international sports events and wellness initiatives.
My journey began in 2008 with studies in massotherapy and evolved into a deep commitment to osteopathy. From 2012 to 2022, I worked as a freelance osteopath, providing clinical care, wellness retreats, and support at international sports and cultural events. Highlights include:
- ISDE 2019 – FIM Motocross Endurance: Osteopathic care and recovery treatments for elite athletes.- Birdwatching World Festival of Sagres: Consultations and health education workshops.
Today, my mission is to help people regain mobility, relieve pain, and reconnect with their bodies. Beyond clinical practice, I engage in teaching, health education, and scientific research, with publications in peer-reviewed journals on patient satisfaction with osteopathic care. I also develop projects that connect health, sports, and quality of life.
I continue to grow professionally and personally, guided by my purpose: to care, teach, and inspire through osteopathy.
My approach
I believe real care begins with listening. Each consultation starts by understanding a patient’s story, health condition, and goals. From there, I design a personalised treatment plan that may include:
– Supporting recovery, mobility, and performance
– Teaching practical strategies for prevention and long-term well-being
– Providing guidance on posture, self-care, and healthy lifestyle choices
When appropriate, I integrate therapeutic exercises, complementary therapies, and natural products such as homeopathic ointments, balms, and essential oils. My focus goes beyond symptom relief — I aim to restore balance, enhance movement, and empower people to take an active role in their health.
I believe that taking the time to recognize a problem is the first step well-being, and that guiding people to find practices (for example: teaching people to treat inflammatory spikes, but also offering postural education to correct problems that lead to pain) and to improve the range of motion leads to a better quality of life, by recovering and strenghtening, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Qualifications & Techniques
With over 10 years of clinical experience, I combine evidence-based and holistic approaches to support integrative health:
– Osteopathy: Structural, visceral, craniosacral, neurodynamics, and myofascial techniques
– Massage Therapy: Therapeutic & sports massage, lymphatic drainage, neuromuscular relaxation, shiatsu, Tui-Na, reflexology, and shantala (infant massage)
– Academic Background: Degree in Osteopathy (Jean Piaget University – Silves)
– Advanced Training: Specialised courses in sports rehabilitation, osteopathic techniques, and integrative health care
– Scientific Work: Peer-reviewed publications on patient satisfaction and perceptions of osteopathic treatment in the Algarve
– Teaching & Education: Active involvement in teaching and training osteopathy. workshops, and projects sharing knowledge on manual therapy and health education.
I am endlessly fascinated by how the body communicates and adapts, and I remain committed to continuous learning. My purpose is to guide people toward recovery, resilience, and an improved quality of life.

“After a few years of injury, Angela was the only one to tell me what it was and resolve it. I couldn't lift my arm more than 45 degrees, and now I can raise it again.”

“I have big problems with my back - two vertebrae that are dead - so should not do sports, but have great desire. I've had several times crises, and few people know how to treat the problem, but with Angela I can always count on her to ease the pain, and return to normality as soon as possible. Thank you, Angela.”

“The previous week to walking Caminho de Santiago, I had an episode of sciatica, which I feared would stop my ability to walk the hundreds of kms. I went to a massage therapy session with Angela, who applied MPS, Myofascial Techniques, released fascial tissue and joints. The next walk the pain disappeared. Thanks Angela.”
